Playing golf in the Northeast this time of year forces me and plenty of other avid golfers to toss the shorts and don the long pants. I played the other day in pants for the first time since May and it kills me to know that the end of the season is coming.
But I see I’m not the only one that enjoys walking the links showing some skin. There was plenty of skin on display at the Turkish Airlines World Golf Final. Lee Westwood, Charl Schwartzel, Matt Kuchar and Hunter Mahan donned shorts as they tried to better their long pants wearing foes.
Of course this brings up the debate about professionals wearing shorts during tournament play. It will never happen on the PGA Tour and their position is understandable. But it’s interesting to see some pros join ranks with the everyday hacker showing some skin as they chase their ball around the links.
