Martin Kaymer has decided to run away from the field here at The U.S. Open. He has added three strokes to his lead as he has three birds on his opening nine so far.
He sits at eight under par and has a five stroke lead over second place held by Fran Quinn.
But the hole of the day already has been decided. Ken Duke, representing us old guys, made an all world par at the par three ninth. His ball was buried in the long wire grass that bordered the green. He had no option but to putt it into the bunker. From there it was an uphill bunker shot that laded close and rolled in the hole. He made it look easy.
