Here’s a look at two more tough holes at Oakmont Country Club for next week’s U.S. Open.
The ninth is a 477 yard par 4 that opens with a blind tee shot. The narrow fairway is protected on the left by a long ditch and troublesome bunkers. The green is a bit odd as the back of the green is a practice green while the front is in play for the ninth hole.
The inward nine starts with another tough par 4. The 462 yarder features a narrow landing area and a green that will repel shots with its front to back slope. In 2007 it played as the second toughest hole and looks to be just as difficult this year.
