Michael Campbell Living the Good Life

us open logo 14The stage is set for the U.S. Open at the revamped Pinehurst No.2 but there is something missing. Past Pinehurst Champion, Michael Campbell is no where to be seen.

Campbell who came out of nowhere to win here in 2005, over Tiger Woods has opted not to come back to the scene of his biggest and most unlikely victory. Campbell was the last player to qualify and then go on to win the U.S. Open.

His championship game left him quickly after his astounding win at Pinehurst. Campbell’s last victory came later that fall in ’05 and he hasn’t made the cut in a major since 2008.

We all know that winning a major championship changes a player’s life, sometimes for the good and sometimes for the bad.

After a brief stage of the really good and a little not so good, Campbell has settled into a comfortable life of family, fun and golf.

Life is good for Michael Campbell even if it isn’t what many of us expected it would be.
