Cinderella at the Open Championship

by Jeff Skinner

Over the past weekend the term “Cinderella Story” was thrown around when it came to Mo Martin’s win at the Women’s British and for Gene Sauers attempt to battle Hall of Famers Colin Montgomerie and Bernhard Langer at the U.S. Senior Open. This week the Open Championship is no different.

Here is this week’s Cinderella story, John Singleton a factory worker from Liverpool. He went through the entire Open Qualification process. This is why it’s called The Open.  Anyone can try their luck at playing with the best golfers in the world. He’s my longshot to make the cut and wouldn’t that be some Cinderella Story.
