Day 3 PGA Championship Talley

by G. Rennie

A throng of players have the 96th PGA Championship within their reach but the man on top and in control is World #1 Rory McIlroy.

Four of Links Life Golf prognosticators have Rory Mc in their stables, so just about anyone can still win the top spot. We’ll pay out for highest finisher, total dollars won and top finishing long shot.

In compiling total stokes played for a foursome of picks any player that is an MC is scored at +10.

Through Day Three here’s how we stand:

5. The Greek owns the cellar spot courtesy of three picks that didn’t make the weekend. But Hercules is still alive as his lone remaining pick, Rickie Fowler, sits two back in third place and is freewheeling like you would expect a dirt biker to.  rory 3rd rd pga

4. Big Dick continues his slide down the standings as Zach Johnson didn’t make much of a move to keep pace with his other low scorer’s, Phil and Rickie.

3. Lil Skins moves into third place courtesy of a 67 from Lefty and despite a MC from The Coolest Guy in Golf.

2. Big Skins holds on to the number two spot and is threatening for the cumulative dollars win as his stable, led by young guns Rory and Rickie, are a tidy 36 under par after three rounds.

1. I continue to hold onto the top spot but am starting to feel the heat. At 38 under my horses need to run hard tomorrow to stay ahead of Big Skins.

None of our touts saw the great play of Austrian Bernd Wiesberger coming and I bet nobody except a family member placed a Euro on him to win this week.

Trivia question: name one other pro golfer from Austria?
