Open Championship Preview: Holes 7, 8, 9

Our Open Championship Preview continues.

The 401 yard par 4 seventh heads inland off the coast and tests the players with a zig-zag fairway.

The eighth is the shortest hole at Royal Troon and in the Open Rota. The famous Postage Stamp, a 123 yard par 3 sounds like an easy hole but it is far from that.  Hit the green or you’re in jail and the wind can make it play much longer.

The ninth hole is another challenging par 4 at 422 yards.  A narrow landing area bordered by gorse test the tee shot. An elevated green with drop offs on either side force an accurate approach.
