Patrick Reed Wins The Barclays, Makes Ryder Cup

Third round leader Rickie Fowler’s luck ran out on the back nine on Bethpage Black.  Fowler had managed 54 holes on the testing layout with just one bogey but stumbled on the back with three bogeys and a double.  He fell to six under par and settled for a tie for seventh place.  In addition to that he played himself out of an automatic place on the Ryder Cup Team.

Reed’s win is his fifth PGA Tour win and his first since the 2015 Tournament of Champions.  To say he was happy with the outcome is an understatement.  He is adamant about playing for his country anytime he can and this will be his second Ryder Cup.  Fowler is left hoping for a captain’s pick.
