Euro Tour Making News

The European Tour was the subject of discussion for much of this week as the Saudi International took place in Saudi Arabia and many felt the tour made a questionable decision to play in a country beset with human rights violations.

Well, the European Tour continues to make headlines with some more controversy as well as some improbable golf.reed pelley

First the Tour welcomed American Patrick Reed with a Life Time Membership allowing “Captain America” to play any European Tour event anytime he wishes. It’s a good publicity move for the tour as Reed is a lightning rod and garners plenty of attention. He is in some impressive company as the only other Americans awarded such an honor were Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Tom Watson. That’s some heady company for the ’18 Masters winner.

Then early this morning reports hit the web that Sergio Garcia had been disqualified from the tournament for “serious misconduct”. It seems the petulant Sergio has resurfaced once again and he took his frustrations out on a few greens causing some damage.

How classless and stupid can a man be?

And finally, on a positive note, Haotong Li played an amazing round of golf as he finished tied for the lead after the third round with Dustin Johnson. Now, 62, eight under par isn’t any kind of record. Heck 60 seems as common as 66 used to be but Li’s round was a bit of an outlier.

He carded two birds, one double bogey and FOUR EAGLES! Yes four eagles and three of them were on par fours. Yowser! That’s some kind of scorecard.
