Dustin Johnson’s Season Gets Better and Better

Do you think Dustin Johnson has got his stuff together?

Long a whipping boy for not winning enough, (really not winning majors) was the knock on the consensus best athlete on tour. But his past two performances should have been enough to banish that tag.dj wgc

DJ’s last four starts: 3rd at The Memorial, 5th at St. Jude’s, a breakthrough win at the U.S. Open and another WGC with his win today at the Bridgestone Invitational.

And DJ seems more laid back than ever. All smiles after a come from behind win at Firestone DJ is a man in full bloom.

I feel great. I feel like my game is where it has been all year,” said Johnson. “I feel like I’ve been playing really solid all year. I’ve been driving it great. I’ve been wedging it good. It’s just I haven’t been putting quite as well as I’d like to, and the last couple weeks I’ve just putted a little bit better, and the game shows it.

“ … My driver’s been great. I feel if I get it into the fairway, I’m going to be tough to beat.”

I’ve just got to keep going and going, keep working on my game, trying to get better, and just keep putting myself in positions to have a chance to win.”

This is DJ’s eleventh PGA Tour win and third WGC victory. He’s a threat to win on each and every course and the “old DJ” that would find a way to blow it appears long gone.

The “new DJ” looks to have his stuff together both on and off the course and as far as the “Big Three” goes…forget about it.

Dustin Johnson has broken that trio up and with him being a favorite for the Open Championship he may just be ready to dominate the way we all think he can.

Man, this season just gets better and better.
