We Can Play Golf Like Jason Day

Jason Day was cruising along with the lead at the WGC Bridgestone Invitational and then he decided to play a hole like yours truly. day tuff

He elected to play it safe and leave the driver in his bag and promptly hooked his 3-wood behind a large pine tree. I can and have done that.

He then tried to punch it under the pine boughs and into the fairway. I have tried that too. He caught more ball than he wanted and bounced it through the fairway into the trees on the other side. Been there done that too.

His ball settled right behind a tree totally stymied. I’ve been there many times. Luckily, or maybe not, he was awarded a free drop when the fans said they had moved the ball. That got him out from behind the tree. I normally am not awarded free drops…ever.

Then he reverted back to my game mode and tried a low punch, under the branches to roll it up on the green. He faded it too much and the ball rolled into the water fronting the green. Now’s he’s really in my territory.

After his drop and penalty stroke he wedged it off the back of the green. Looking more and more like me. He chipped on and sank the putt for a double bogey seven. My kind of hole all the way around.

Day was in the drivers seat before the sixteenth hole and after his painful double he was two back of eventual winner Dustin Johnson.

Who says I can’t play like the pros.
