Dustin Johnson is a freak…in a good way. He’s been blessed with such natural athletic ability and a body that could have in in the NFL, NBA or MLB if he really wanted I suppose. But he plays golf and we are all better for it.
They say the good ones always make it look easy, no matter what the task. DJ makes golf look easy…way too easy. He sashays round courses like he has not a care in the world, on or off the course. And continues to eat up courses no matter how long or difficult.
His closing shot at the FedEx St. Jude Classic epitomizes DJ and the casual, laid back demeanor that is his trademark. He hits a smooth, little nine iron from 171 yards that never strayed from the pin. It bounds up and rolls in for a walk off eagle to close out his win. Man this game is easy… at least for Dustin Johnson.
Shinnecock awaits and if he can carry this momentum into the U.S. Open he’ll be smiling again come Sunday night.
